First India Day Parade on Long Island, Saturday, August 11th, 12noon


  • INDIA DAY PARADE OF LONG ISLAND announces preparations for a parade to be held on Saturday, August 11th, 2012 on Broadway Route 107. The first of it’s kind to be held in the town of Hicksville, NY. This year the INDIA DAY PARADE celebrates Pride, Passion, and Unity. It is through the education that the community can continue to progress. Higher education is a source of empowerment that greatly improves the social and financial conditions of individuals aspiring to better their lives.

    arch in the INDIA DAY PARADE in LONG ISLAND. We are looking for 20 participants to represent NetIP-NY, and march in the INDIA DAY PARADE. If you are interested, please email president@netip-ny.org to confirm your attendance. The parade, which will include floats, marching bands and dance troupes, will start at 1 p.m. from Patel Brothers and proceed on Broadway to the Asamai Hindu Temple on East Barclay Street. Over 10,000 people and several public officials are expected to attend the parade and participate in an array of cultural activities as part of the commemorative celebration.
