the looooong-awaited screen kiss

The Kiss

The Kiss

How many years,  DECADES,  have we waited for Srk’s first kiss? on screen, okay…. As for me,  since Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.

After watching Jab Tak Hai Jaan  I have to say… too little too late, because for so many years he has been avoiding the kiss and alone the subject of it that, I think, we all made our peace with the hero who never kisses. Now, in a moment of midlife crisis, obviously,  Shahrukh plants one on Katrina Kaif. And guess what, the chemistry between these two wasn’t right. It’s not the longing and romantic, heart-throbbing kiss, it’s just  “a kiss” – with no attachments. No tingling in the air.  He basically sacrificed this last bastion of privacy for no good reason. I almost feel bad for him. check it out. He looks MISERABLE.

Probably it was Yash Raj’s idea, bad idea. And we can’t blame him..Anymore anyway. The kiss was supposed to be the dot of the i in his prolific and exciting career as filmmaker and producer. It hasn’t worked out as he had planned. Nothing in life ever does.  Right now he is probably up there in heaven, scratching his head, thinking to himself ‘ I had planned that so well and look how underwhelmed every one is with these lukewarm kissing scenes’…

Yeah, Yash. C’est la vie. We know how that goes with things we await so anxiously for so long…they always have a way of letting us down.

Un(sub)titled Jab Tak Hai Jaan

The waiting game for Shahrukh Khan fans is over! :-) Romance is back on track.

After excursions into the underworld, Asperger’s and doing penance as a bespectacled nerdy protagonist, Srk romances his ladies again (I am just assuming since I don’t understand a word he says there..) in the Yash Chopra  directorial production hitting the theaters November 13th. His fans will rejoice to see Shahrukh again in a romantically relatable role starring alongside Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma.

Shall we book the tickets now? :-)

But seriously, I hope this will be a good film and not just an homage to our superstar.

Yash Chopra has given us unforgettable Bollywood classics like Veer Zaara. Read up on his impressive bio.

Autumn and winter strike Bollywood gold

Autumn is usually a great season for Bollywood movies. And this one does fulfill all the promises. Our Khan superstar Khan trio, Shahrukh, Salman and Aamir all are coming out with new movies.

On November 13th, there will be two big releases: Son of Sadaar with Ajay Devgn and the much awaited up to last week title-less movie Jab Tak Hai Jaan with Shahrukh and the beautiful Katrina Kaif. We’ll have to see. They will both get released. On the same day? good idea? we shall see… the dates can still change last moment. we’ve seen that before.

Aamir will release Talaash on November 30th and Salman Khan comes out with the sequel to Dabangg Dec 21rst.

But there will be a few good movies in between and here are all the trailers:

Needless to say, I am in Heaven. Bollywood Heaven :-) …. until cricket season ruins it all again …

Get out the champagne. We got a title: Jab Tak Hai Jaan.

found in Times of India

Shahrukh’s and Katrina Kaif’s new movie was christened, or rather hindustanied. I thought it took so long because Yash Chopra is getting up in age and might have lost the notebook where he scribbled  “Find a title to the new movie I wrote and directed, nah, what was his name? Shahrukh. Yeah, Shahrukh and this beautiful girl. wait, her name is on my tongue…”

But no, I was told by my stern critic and blogfrenemy Shahid Shah (who keeps poking needles into my Achilles)  that it’s one of Yash’s old marketing gimmicks and dates back to Veer Zaara. Needless to say, I am glad it wasn’t Alzheimers responsible for the delay.  Now all I need is have someone translate the title…(maybe: Until I find a lover??)

Looking fwd to Jab Tak Hai Jaan.
