Salman working hard to reunite Hrithik and Suzanne… hmmm

According to One India reports, Salman selflessly reaches out to Hrithik to save the latter’s tattered marriage. So sweet. We all love Salman and Hrithik and of course Suzanne. We don’t want them to break up either. We still want to believe in marriage, afterall. Truly altruistic of Salman. Oh wait!

These twosies are working again on a film together, right? and we hear they are getting along famously.  Bang Bang. Snap Snap.

Best Indian commercials

I love Indian commercials :-)  Well, some are unimaginative too but others are really funny. Like these ones from State Farm.

This is one of my favorite Srk ads (for Pepsi). who can forget it…

or this with Uncle Shahrukh and Uncle John

Katrina Kaif sprints into action: who needs romance?

googled and found koimoi.com

Katrina is excited about her two new action movies “Bang Bang” and “Dhoom3”

but nobody could be more excited than her fans who admired her sprinting through Ek Tha Tiger with Salman Khan. (why wasn’t that the most successful movie of all times? I LOVED IT, but then, I am a huge Katrina fan and I love her in all her movies. she just always shines so bright).

I googled and googled and googled my heart out but I couldn’t find the scene where Katrina shows off her action skills. But if you saw the movie, you know this girl can RUN! :-)

Katrina Kaif excited to take up action genre

Katrina will next be seen in action flick Dhoom 3.
Katrina Kaif has usually done love stories but the actress says she is looking forward to go beyond her romantic image with action films Dhoom 3 and Bang Bang. The two films, starring Aamir Khan and Hrithik Roshan, involve hardcore action and Katrina herself will be seen performing some dare devil stunts.”Bang Bang is inspired by Hollywood film Knight and Day but we have re-done the story to suit Indian audience. It is an action comedy and I haven’t done anything like this in a long time.

“All my previous movies have more or less been love stories. This also has a love angle but with a twist. It is a huge change and I am really excited about it,” she told PTI. Katrina is currently busy filming Aamir Khan starrer Dhoom 3 in Switzerland.

“We are still shooting… Still have a lot of work to do but it is shaping up well. It is a very glamorous and bold role at the same time. I am having a good time working with Aamir. He is a wonderful actor, extremely supportive.”

The Singh Is King star recently joined the list of actresses who have worked with the top three Khan’s (Salman, Shah Rukh and Aamir) of the industry.

Though she feels lucky to have worked with the three superstars, Katrina says beyond a point name does not matter more than the work she is being offered.

“The big deal is they are legends and have been in the industry for the longest time… I am very fortunate to have got an opportunity of working will all three. It has been a learning and informative experience but beyond that I think it is not whom you work with but the kind of movies you do and what are you interests. What matters to me is the script and the director I am working with,” she said.

Coming from a non-filmy background and considering her non-fluency in Hindi, Katrina has achieved a lot by delivering hits like New York, Raajneeti, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Bodyguard, Ek Tha Tiger and Jab Tak Hai Jaan.

Besides movies, she is also a part of many endorsements. She recently shot for an all new campaign for Mango drink Slice, titled the Slice taste challenge.

Katrina returns to her seductive look in the commercial, which she feels has a very poetic feel to it.

“Slice has been one of my best associations. When they started, their ideas just clicked with me. I believe if the base of the project is strong be it movies or ads, half of the work is already done.

“Also what I like is the sensual and visually appealing look of the ad. The quality is so poetic and it has a story with a message. All of this makes the journey of being with them more special and exciting,” she added.

Commenting on the recent reports about her younger sister joining the film industry, Katrina said, “Isabelle is currently in LA completing her acting course. She is happy there and has no plans of coming to Bollywood as of now. So as and when she completes her course and if she wants to come she can come.”

and here is her juicy Slice ad:

okay, Katrina you got us to eat the pound of sugar hidden in that drink. what else?

almost as yummy is her performance in the song Sheila Ki Jawaani

oh sorry, that was her body-double

Dream couple Hrithik and Katrina return with a double bang

It’s official. It’s a reunion. Bang Bang.

image found on google celebden.com

Hrithik returns with Katrina Kaif to the big screen after the mega-successes of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Agneepath with Bang Bang,  the remake of Knight and Day (2010, with Cruise-Control and Cameron Diaz)… Outch. I was hoping for something more original…Hey Bollywood,  Siddharth Anand, please! not ANOTHER REMAKE!!!

Having blurted that out, sometimes Indian remakes are extraordinarily entertaining. John Abraham and Nana Patekar’s killer chemistry and the pace of Taxi no 9211, the remake of Changing Lanes (starring Ben Affleck and Samuel Jackson)  was much more edgy and interesting than the original.

Siddharth Anand has roped in Hollywood’s famous action Conrad Palmisano, who has choreographed and coordinated the beautiful stunts in  Salman Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger for his new venture.  image found at bollywoodhungamaSiddharth is much better known in the romance department. He  has directed Anjaana Anjaani (2010),  Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008), TaRaRumPum (2007) okay, a bit of race car drivie here,  and Salaam Namaste (2005).  I enjoyed all these movies and I am looking forward to his debut in the category ‘action’

It has been already wildly speculated if we will see Hrithik and Katrina liplock in BangBang. Oh, Salman, relax, it’s just acting!! But I hear we’ll be disappointed in this regard. (and I can’t remember Diaz kissing CruiseControl in Knight and Day. Do you?)  So we’ll have to see where Siddharth is taking us romantically. One thing is sure: Katrina and Hrithik make a filmi dream-pair! But we can’t say that too loud, Salman might hear us :-)

AR Murugadoss’s Ramana Hindi remake with Akshay Kumar.

We shall see, according to what I read they are supposed to start filming soon.. Katrina Kaif as female lead was talked about, and I hope this project will come through. I always loved the pairing of Katrina and Akshay. They look fab  together. just works.

I can’t get enough of Akki. He’s a breath of fresh air. He made a couple of silly movies. The fact that they became blockbusters is his merit. It can’t be denied. He still has the pull. He’s got game.

King Akki

the looooong-awaited screen kiss

The Kiss

The Kiss

How many years,  DECADES,  have we waited for Srk’s first kiss? on screen, okay…. As for me,  since Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.

After watching Jab Tak Hai Jaan  I have to say… too little too late, because for so many years he has been avoiding the kiss and alone the subject of it that, I think, we all made our peace with the hero who never kisses. Now, in a moment of midlife crisis, obviously,  Shahrukh plants one on Katrina Kaif. And guess what, the chemistry between these two wasn’t right. It’s not the longing and romantic, heart-throbbing kiss, it’s just  “a kiss” – with no attachments. No tingling in the air.  He basically sacrificed this last bastion of privacy for no good reason. I almost feel bad for him. check it out. He looks MISERABLE.

Probably it was Yash Raj’s idea, bad idea. And we can’t blame him..Anymore anyway. The kiss was supposed to be the dot of the i in his prolific and exciting career as filmmaker and producer. It hasn’t worked out as he had planned. Nothing in life ever does.  Right now he is probably up there in heaven, scratching his head, thinking to himself ‘ I had planned that so well and look how underwhelmed every one is with these lukewarm kissing scenes’…

Yeah, Yash. C’est la vie. We know how that goes with things we await so anxiously for so long…they always have a way of letting us down.

Get out the champagne. We got a title: Jab Tak Hai Jaan.

found in Times of India

Shahrukh’s and Katrina Kaif’s new movie was christened, or rather hindustanied. I thought it took so long because Yash Chopra is getting up in age and might have lost the notebook where he scribbled  “Find a title to the new movie I wrote and directed, nah, what was his name? Shahrukh. Yeah, Shahrukh and this beautiful girl. wait, her name is on my tongue…”

But no, I was told by my stern critic and blogfrenemy Shahid Shah (who keeps poking needles into my Achilles)  that it’s one of Yash’s old marketing gimmicks and dates back to Veer Zaara. Needless to say, I am glad it wasn’t Alzheimers responsible for the delay.  Now all I need is have someone translate the title…(maybe: Until I find a lover??)

Looking fwd to Jab Tak Hai Jaan.

Mere Brother Ki Dulhan

I was rewatching Mere Brother Ki Dulhan the other day, and loved it just as much as when I saw it at the theater last year.

Katrina is just so super hot. And I loved Imran Khan and Ali Zafar in this colorful romantic comedy about a brother who sets out to find an Indian bride for his London based sibling and then falls in love with the girl he chooses for him.  Written and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar.

A must see for any romantic at heart.

one song better than the next..

making a mental post-it to buy the DVD …

Dear God,  thank you for Bollywood flicks! :-)

Salman and Katrina on 200 cr track with Ek Tha Tiger

I hope Ek Tha Tiger keeps going strong at the box office. The action-packed, romantic thriller takes you on a highly entertaining roller-coast ride through several continents. The stunts are just magnificent, Bollywood action movies are getting better and better. I loved this movie! I would say hiring Hollywood’s stunt coordinator Conrad Palmisano has paid off gloriously. Same can be said about Aseem Mishra, whose cinematography is borderline poetic.

The foreign locations were awesome,  especially Istanbul and Havana, Cuba.

Ranvir Shorey, as secret service agent looked great with beard and slightly threatening. You could never be sure if he didn’t work both sides.. He created some moments of good suspense. I liked him and wish they had given him more screen-time and his role a bit more complexity and substance.

The soundtrack was very nice too.  Of the songs,  I liked Laapata and Mashallah best.

I am not surprised at 200 crore. It’s a great family entertainer. Even grandma will like it. Just make sure she sits far enough not to get dizzy..

Part of the box office success of Ek Tha Tiger  hinges undoubtedly on Salman & Katrina’s chemistry, which is plain undeniable and makes you wonder where these two are headed relationship-wise. They make a fabulous couple, not just on screen but they look right together.  Let’s talk about body language.  It seems that Katrina’s role as ISI secret service agent Zoya, served two purposes, one to showcase how good she looks on a high speed chase, who thought she had it in her,  and secondly it appears like the perfect platform to woo her back from Salman’s point of view.  “Oh Kat, It’s part of the role that you should lay down on me.. that I nibble on your ear, dance a waltz with you..and hold you tight n whisper in your ear..” and you can see Katrina looking at him as if she were saying “oh yeah? so are we in character now..??”  He is wooing her with his eyes in every single scene, 99% convinced that he got her back, and not just on tiger track.  The question Katrina will have to answer.. should she stay or should she go.

Salman, aka RAW secret service agent Tiger is asking himself on and off screen the same question, but it looks like he has made up his mind.. No wonder, Katrina looks sexier than ever! Round in all the right places but muscular and healthy, just wonderful to look at. This woman is beautiful even without any make-up, as she dared to show us in a rare glimpse of her beauty ‘au naturel’ – that was gutsy! and btw, heads up for her stylist and costume designers. From innocent to femme fatale, wearing a traditional Pakistani dress, she looks stunning in whatever she wears!

The movie is a bit heavy on romance for being a thriller and action movie, but,  let’s say, I don’t hold it against them. :-)

Well done. Shabash!  Salman Khan, your charm and charisma never fails.  This movie will turn into another Salman classic and I bet it’s not the last time we get to see Zoya and Manish.  calls for an encore.

btw, if you are interested in reading about the real Tiger, Ravinder Kaushik, the ending of his story slightly differed:

Ravinder_Kaushik

.. not exactly a James Bond story,  sailing into the sunset with a pretty girl. No, Ravinder was caught and jailed in Pakistan, tortured. He eventually died in jail.
